Pill Popping Nation? America's Growing Adiction

Summary: Besides “meth”, there is another very bad drug causing addictions across America.  It is the prescription drug.  One day in New York, a robber entered a pharmacy and killed four citizens and took with him ten thousand pain killer medicines.  When that robber and his wife got arrested, the officers thought they were high on painkillers in the middle of the arrest.  Such prescription medicines should be used if medical attention is needed.  In the last five years, recent drug store robberies are in the top eighty one percent.  These days, many teens are not buying prescriptions because they usually use their parent’s prescriptions.  The government is now thinking about changing the way to get prescriptions.  Parents with old prescriptions should dump their medicine into the toilet or give it to a drug disposal company.

Critique:  I like what the government is trying to do here.  They’re telling us that they are going to place stricter regulations on the disbursement of prescription medicines.

Impact: There are many drug problems in our country.  We should help by disposing old medicines without throwing them away in the trash, but rather by throwing them down the toilet.  This will help because it should weaken the chance of somebody getting into your meds and getting high with them.
