Humans Can Go Extinct?!

Summary: It has been discussed by people all over the world: extinction. Are we next?
That depends on who you are. Some people could care less about their mortal well-being, while others hang out on the streets of popular towns everywhere holding signs that say “The End is Upon Us! Run And Live!” You can’t run from a world-wide pandemic or natural disaster, though . . .
Some religions say that one day, God will get fed up with humankind and dispose of us all at once, like he did with Noah and the Ark, only guess what? This time, He won’t be as forgiving. As if a freak tsunami wasn’t enough, Priests and nuns say he will also throw volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, hurricanes, extreme hot and cold weather, plague, and all sorts of other scary stuff we hate to mess with, at us.
Scientists like to rely on facts; they think our extinction is impossible unless something interferes with the Circle of Life. For example: genetic engineering, crossbreeding, Dysgenics – offspring become less intelligent – or some kind of wrong chemical entering the body of all women, making them unable to reproduce.
Impact: Well, there are very many things that could happen if we’re not careful. Many different books/movies/articles have been written on discoveries that went bad, like Jurassic Park. It’s human nature to be greedy, but it’s within our control to know when enough is enough.
Critique: I’ve never even thought of humans going extinct. It’s unheard of. Animals, sure, but humans? I think we have more than enough resources. The only thing that could really kill all of us at one time is a wide-spread, no-mercy plague. Then what would happen to the earth? Would things get better or worse without humans? Yep, extinction would be bad. So let’s try keep our hands clean at all times and not anger God. We’ll get by . . . I hope.
