Wildfires

Summary: Wildfires are caused by a tiny spark. A single spark can amount to 50 acres of burnt trees. They are usually different from other fires because of their size, but sometimes they seem to have a mind of their own. They can jump, are capable of changing directions quickly, and speed up/slow down randomly. On hot days, fires can start easily. It’s not like suddenly “poof” and a fire is there. There has to be some sort of disturbance in the oxygen and a flammable substance in the soil. Though there are different types of fires according to what their fuel type is, most go from the ground up. Wildfires are put out by various different ways, such as the dropping of water or fire retardants by unmanned aerial vehicles or manually.
Impact: Now and then, fires are begun unintentionally by people. A camper in the woods may not have extinguished his campfire properly and accidently started a flame. This is still counted as arson, because it was a made by man, but the pressing of charges depends on the circumstances. Arson-ing is illegal, but sometimes people do it anyway. But really, what if some freak-accident fire burns the tropical rainforests in Africa down? That’s bad. Trees are not only peaceful, cool and should not be disturbed; they’re our source of air! Every living thing needs to breathe, and if our crops die and the soil becomes infertile, then the humans die. This is why we should not arson and should try to appropriately put out our fires. Arsonists don’t think ahead, which is exactly the problem.
Critique: Occasionally, fires are started on purpose by rangers to reduce the chance of forest fires happening. These are controlled, however, to make sure there is no risk of actually starting a fire. There actually have been cases of a wildfire getting out of control in the rangers’ hands, but they were stopped. The soil also becomes enriched with nutrients from the fire and it helps things grow better. I think this is mostly good for the environment. Mostly.
