Dinosaurs even bigger than previously thought

Summary: It is pretty obvious that a dinosaur’s leg bone is connected to the hip bone but what isn’t very obvious is what’s in between the bones. Researchers have found that dinosaurs had many think layers of cartilage in their joints which means that they could have been taller than thought. Lawrence Witmer did research on ostriches and alligator and then he studied the fossilized limbs of other dinosaurs and he determined that the lengths of alligators and ostriches limbs include between 6 and 10% of cartilage. Another person that was researching on this was Holliday and he/she found that certain dinosaurs such as the Triceratops and Brachiosaurus may have been 10% or more taller then what we had originally thought. For example the Brachiosaurus was thought to be 42 feet tall but now thought to be a foot or more taller than that. Also all of this leads up to also knowing that the cartilage could make the dinosaur slower or faster, depending on the how it affects the skeleton.
Critique: What does this article have to do with anything, what is the point of knowing this? Otherwise it is pretty interesting.
Impact: I am not sure what the impact this has on people but it could possibly lead to other interesting studies of different animals or even people.
