Spider Silk Conducts Heat as Well as Metals

Reference: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120305132613.htm

Summary: Silk spiders have some interesting properties: there webs are strong, 4 microns think and very stretchy. Silk spiders can conduct heat rate at 416 watt. Silk spiders can conduct heat 1,000 better then a woven silkworm silk. Also silk spiders can conduct 800 times better than organic tissue. Stretching spider silk to it's 20 percent limit also increases conductivity by 20 percent.

Critique: Im not much of a spiders person, but i thought it was really weird that there is silk spiders. i thought that there was only silkworms not silk spiders.

Impact: It could help us with make more clothing or other useful things in the future.
