Making memories: How 1 protein does it

Summary:

This is pretty scary thing to think about before you take medicine for the recent headaches you've been having. So scientist have finnaly figured out what makes memories and also what can destroy them. "During the learning process, cells in the brain's hippocampus release BDNF, a growth-factor protein that ramps up production of other proteins involved in establishing memories. Yet, by mechanisms that were never understood, BDNF is known to increase production of less than 4 percent of the different proteins in a brain cell" says biology new network.

Critque:

Now ill think twice when the docters prescribe some drug for my brain.

Impact:

Could have an impact on people who are taking medication for migranes!
