Reference:http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/02/120217101703.htm

Summary: American Quarter Horses are known for their speed, calm disposition and agility. They also prone to some disorders such as hereditary equine regional dermal asthenia (HERDA) where their skin is fragile and tears easily. Quarter horses have more genetic variation especially in genes involved in sensory perception, immunity, and cellular processes. Quarter horses was a heterozygous a mutation in the cyclophilin B which in the gene that shows the chestnut color of their body color.

Critique: It was very interesting and understanding.

Impact: I don't think there is a impact that can help besides having more qquarter horses win the rodeos and shows.
