Pain

Pain can it be explained, yes, yes it can but can it be explained how you can turn it off you tell me, scientists have scientists have come potentially come up with a way to turn off the ability for your body to tell you if it is hurting or not. They would give you a chemical compound by the means of injection or consuming it, the chemical is known as QAQ, this compound goes straight into your nerves and making it controllable if you feel the pain or not. This isn't gonna be available to the public right away even if the chemical is perfected to perfection but it will be used at first for therapeutic, and medicinal purposes.
Impact: People will no longer feel injuries but without this people could go around with a broken leg and not even know and have to get it cut off if not treated.
Critique: I would love to not feel pain honestly but controlling when or when i cant i  would always have it on so i could feel it and if i get hurt i'd turn it off.

  1. Really, this is completely unnecessary. pain is how the body learns. It tells you when something bad that needs to be fixed is happening. You may argue "Yes, but what about a life or death situation where pain is holding you back from making it to safety?" In situations such as this, the body releases adrenaline and essentially ignores the nerves and allows you to continue on untill you are to a safe place when your body tells you your foot is backwards.
