People
in the horse world have been debating whether branding or micro chipping is
more stressful for a foal.
Critique:
Studies
have been done on both branding a foal by taking a hot iron and applying it to
their skin and micro chipping my implanting a chip that has all their
information in their necks. Surprisingly, they both cause a lot of stress for the
young horse, but when the foals body temperature lowers, they still have to
work around their sensitive skin that was branded. With a chip, after cooling
off, it has been discovered that this is the easier way.
Impact:
I think
micro chipping a foal is must less stressful and is easier.
