Central Valley Flood Plan

California is working on a flood prevention plan to stop flooding in the central valley. Their plan is to change the levee and canal system to try to prevent flooding. The current system is in danger of failing and causing millions of people in California to be without water and cause billions in damage. Experts say if the levees are to break the damage would be comparable to the 2005 flooding in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. However this would take decades and cost billions in local, state, and federal money.

This could affect us if we ever plan on living in central California you could be at risk of flooding or go without water for a long period of time.
