Study: Exercise Can Lower Cancer Recurrence

Resource: http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/healthscience/2011/October/Study-Exercise-Can-Lower-Cancer-Recurrence-/
Summary: Exercise can help people with breast cancer or colon cancer.  Doctors say that exercising can bring down the side effects of the cancer.  Doctors have just approved that exercise will lower the chance cancer coming back.  You should work out for about two and a half hours a week to lower the chances of somebody getting cancer again.  Doctors are now researching something new.  The more fat cells that a person has, gives them lots of insulin and estrogen.  Those two things help grow the cancer cells.  One way to reduce inflammation is by reducing stress, and one way to reduce somebody’s stress is to exercising.  Stay active but don’t become weary because this will keep anybody that has or doesn’t have cancer, in good physical shape.

Critique: Physical exercise can really help the people in our nation that have cancer.  I think if it is possible for the person with cancer to do so, exercise would be a great option for them.  Cancer is a horrible disease and I think taking any steps possible to help get rid of the disease or prevent it is a wise decision.

Impact: Cancer is one of the biggest problems in our nation.  Many people die from cancer everyday.  I had a really good friend and he died of cancer.  I saw him very weak and don’t know if exercise would’ve helped him.  I do believe that if he had the strength to do so he would’ve.  I think each person would have to know if they could handle it or not.  Exercising is good for all of us and I believe is something everyone should do to keep us healthy.
