Astronomy 1

Orion’s Belt

Summary- The Orion’s Belt is the three stars in a row that are known as the north stars from the sky or earth view. But what most people don’t know is that there are four stars in the onion’s belt. The brightest star is called Alnilam which is approximately 1340 light years away from earth. The doubled star or Mintaka is approximately 915 light years away from earth. Also the star Alnitak which is approximately 800 light years away from earth. The Orion’s Belt is also the North Star which the three wise men followed to find Jesus in the bible.

Critique- My favorite system or star would be Mintaka because it has to stars orbiting around each other which can be some what rare. Most people think the north star is just the North star but its actually Mintaka being much brighter than the other two stars near it.

Impact- Not much of a impact but cool to know that the three wise men followed Orion’s belt (Mintaka)

Reference- My own Intelligence.
