Heart Disease Rates Down

Reference: http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/13/cdc-heart-disease-prevalence-down/?hpt=he_c2

Summary: Over the past couple of years the widespread of Heart Disease has been going down in the USA from a 6.7 percent in 2006 to a 6.0 percent in 2011. The results were recorded in over a national phonecall conducted by the CDC. It was only given in Spanish or English to only people with landlines. No senior citizen homes were included in the survey either. People with the highest rate of Heart Disease are Men, Native Alaskans, American Indians, People with less than a High School degree, and people who live in the South. People with the lowest rate of Heart Disease are Women, Asians, Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, people with more than a college degree, and people who live in Conneticut or Hawaii.

Critique: It's a good story, but I don't think it's very accurate. I mean, people can say anything over a telephone call. And what about the people without landlines? My family only has cellphones now. I just think the CDC should have gotten more accurate data. I also find it hard to believe that Heart Disease is going down with the amount of fast food America eats. If anything Heart Disease rates should be going up.

Impact: Well, if this data truly is accurate information, America's #1 killer is going down!
