When we go to fast food places like MacDonald’s , the last thing we expect in our
food in ammonia or in other words pink slime. 70% percent of all our ground beef is part
of a process that uses the part of meat that would under normal circumstances harm us
and instead of throwing it away they add ammonia to make the meat last longer and to
kill off all the toxins already in the meat. This meat is used in schools and fast food
places. It is used because it is cheaper and lasts longer.
Impact: after reading this article its kind of shocking to know that such a harmful
product is used to make an equally harmful product “safe” for us to eat. I don’t eat
anything that’s not organic so it’s not a problem for me but I feel bad for all the kids in
schools that don’t know what they are eating and for the fast-food consumers that don’t
know either.
