Preference for Fatty Foods May Have Genetic Roots

Summary: Researchers discovered that people with certain forms of CD36 may have a high like on fat foods more than those who have other forms of genes. The results may help food developers create new low fat foods that taste better. In animals CD36 is a necessary gene for the ability to both detect and develop preferences for fat. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging to understand why certain forms of CD36 genes are linked to higher fatty preferences.

Critique: It was pretty interesting and cool that a lot of people go towards the fatty and unhealthy foods instead of staying at the less fatty and healthy foods top help you be thin and healthy.

Impact: Could help over weight people cut down on their eating habits to eat fatty food, and look more towards the less fatty and healthy foods that could help them.
