European Neanderthals Were On the Verge of Extinction Even Before the Arrival of Modern Humans

Resource: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/02/120225110942.htm Summmary: Researchers have recently been looking at how the Neanderthals were on the verge of becoming extint before the humans, about 50,000 years ago when most of them had died. Though they recolinized and lasted 10,000 years before the humans came in. “The fact that Neanderthals in Europe were nearly extinct, but then recovered, and that all this took place long before they came into contact with modern humans came as a complete surprise to us. This indicates that the Neanderthals may have been more sensitive to the dramatic climate changes that took place in the last Ice Age than was previously thought”, says Love DalĂ©n, associate professor at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm. Then they found in the DNA in the genetic variation that they were very limited. All of this information is said to help people figure out more information on the evolution theory. Impact: This article doesnt really have a huge impact on a lot of people but if it helps with knowing more about the evolution theory then it does have some impact. Critique: This was a good interesting article, i would recommend it to anyone that wants more information about the evolution theory.
