The Genetic Switch for Alcohol Tolerance
Written By: Samantha Bernickus

Summary: Researchers have been looking at weither genes can pass down the tolerance people have to alcohol or not. So to test this theory they used fruit flies, and they filled them up with alcohol till they were staggering. Then they tested to see if the genes showed the alcohol tolerance and it turned out that it did have an impact. They supposedly think that since this works on fruit flies it must work on humans. This can lead to a lot of different solutions, such as, if your parents are alcoholics you'll probably have a better tolerance to alcohol. If your parents dont rarely drink then you may not have a big alcohol intake, therefore wont be able to drink that much before getting all silly and sick.
Critique: This is a good article to read so that you know that if your parents drink or do not drink that much, you may have a good tolerance for alcohol or not.
Impact: The article can have an impact on people because they can know now weither they are able to drink a lot before getting sick or to not drink very much because they will get sick.
