Summary- Tuberculosis kills over 2million people each year. It's caused by infectious bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis- or Mtb.) It targets the immune cells, and neutralizing the immune system. Mtb produces a protein that allows it to bypass the body's security system. Mtb has a way of teasing the body and making it think it's not there, that's the reason why it's such a killer.
Critique- Since scientists have found the reason behind the inability to defend against mtb, maybe that's a small step in creating a cure for it.
Impact- this is a big impact for people who will in the future get tuberculosis, because maybe by then there will be a cure for it.
