Detecting detrimental change in coral reefs

Summary: Dr. Dustin has been studying and collecting evidence to help document the decline of coral reefs globally. He uses a system called temporal texture monitoring, which is how coral reefs reflect light (as seen from satellite) over time. Dr. Dustin has been able to document "hot spots" in the reef showing significant decline.

Critique: Its wonderful that he found a way to document the decline in coral reefs, but the article doesn't give you information as to why.

Impact: Scientists can now develop a baseline map of the coral reefs today, and look at how environmental disasters effect them over time.
