33,000-year-old dog skull
Summary- Inside the Altai Mountains in Siberia, a
domesticated dog skull was found in a preserved state in a cave in Belgium.
Predating to a period known as the Last Glacial Maximum, where the greatest
extent of ice seriously disturbed the life patterns of humans and animals, Belgian
and Siberian domesticated lineages did not survive the time.
Impact- This all proves that the domestication of dogs by
humans happened early in history in many different geological locations,
meaning that today, dogs may have multiple ancestors.
Critique- I like how this article shows that humans survived
in the time of dog domestication because it means that even then, the dogs
provided protection, companionship, and even guidance on hunts to supply the
people.
