Managing children's overeating habits

Managing children's overeating habits

Summary- Studies suggest that restricting what kids eat, requiring them to track their daily food intake, and engaging in intensive exercise will help children become healthy and prevent them from obesity. The overall goal was to figure out how to stop eating when you are no longer hungry.

Impact- Appetite awareness and food resistance are the main problems today with obesity. This study was the first to create and test interventions that have goals toward overeating in children. The researchers are planning longer and more randomized trials, starting in summer 2012.
Critique- If this training was available everywhere, the major problem of obesity among children and adults could drop immensely. Groups that have already tested these theories have become very successful with their patients.
