Mysterious Monkey Re-Discovered in Borneo

Summary: Brent Loken, a Simon Fraser University PhD student was in Borneo hoping to photograph the rare Bornean clouded leopard. However, when he and other researchers were reviewing photos taken in a time-lapse, they saw an animal that they weren't able to recognize. This animal was Miller's grizzled langur, one of the rarest and least-known primates in Borneo. It was thought that this animal was extinct. There are extremely few pictures of this monkey so it was really hard to identify it.

Critique: It's awesome that what he discovered was even more amazing than what he was hoping for. Hopefully they will study this rare animal more now that they know it's not extinct. It's a really cute monkey so perhaps they will make more conservation efforts to save it now they know it's not extinct.

Impact: They thought this animal was extinct. It's amazing to find out that it's not!
