Swanson Recalls Celery Seed for Possible Salmonella

Reference- www.myfoxphoenix.com

Summary- The people at Swanson Health Products are recalling some packages of organic celery seed because it may be contaminated with salmonella. This recall is for Swanson Organic Celery Seed (Whole) packaged in plastic bottles with a net weight of 1.4 oz. The product was sold between June 16 and December 16. The company said that it became aware of the potential contamination when it was notified by their supplier, B & M Inc.

Critique- This could present a problem for this company. This has got to be the 5th contaminated food story I've read in at least the last 2 weeks. That is really not good.

Impact-This imapcts both the company and its customers. It said that the product has been on the shelves in stores since June and they find out now?! What kind of company realizes that their product may be able to kill someone at least 6 months after it goes in stores every where.
