Rhinoceros

Summary: Rhinoceroses? Rhinoceri? Whatever you want to call it, these animals are actually pretty cool.

•The average life span is 35 to 40 years.
•They are pregnant for 16 months and only have one baby at a time. Having twins is extremely rare and a tad unusual.
•They usually have no predators. One could say that we, as humans, are the predators.
•They have poor eyesight, while their sense of smell and hearing are very good. This seems to be a pattern among powerful creatures, wouldn’t you think?
•They are vegetarian.

Impact: Certain kinds of Rhinoceroses are actually facing extinction. Humans have been hunting them for many years and have forced them into oblivion. We use their tusks, skins, meat and fat for various things. There are quite a few still out there, and it’s not like they’ll disappear overnight, but it’s good to keep an eye on these things.

Critique: I actually decided to research this animal for my blog because my friend said it would be cool. (That’s why you work with a buddy, because when you run out of good ideas, they’ve probably got one you haven’t thought of.)
