How To Select The Healthiest Breakfast Cereals

Summary: It is important to know what cereals are healthy and what are the misleading marketing tactics.  A lot of cereal manufacturers like to say stuff about their cereal on a commercial.  But because of this, people are buying cereals that they think are healthy but are really not.  Most of these cereals contain additives, sugar, colourings, salt, and preservatives.  What deceives people is when the marketers make the cereal seem really good.  Here are some of tactics that marketers use to deceive people.  Processed food loses some of the vitamins and minerals, but the marketers lie and say that the cereal still has a good amount of vitamins and minerals.  They also lied about how there is not that much sugar in the cereal even though there is too much sugar.  Most marketers use inducements, which means that they will put toys or a picture that a kid has seen on TV on the box.  This is what healthy cereal should have.  It should have high amounts of carbohydrates, but very low on sugar, it should not have that much processing, low fat, cereal should be something that you will eat and enjoy for the rest of your life, and it should have a good amount of minerals and vitamins.

Critique: A lot of people buy sugary cereals for their children but don’t see that it is not healthy for them.  All I got to say about this is that if you want your children to stay healthy, make sure to look at the list above so that when your at the store you know what you are looking for.

Impact:  A lot of people keep eating unhealthy cereals and can never stop.  But a lot people don’t know what is in these unhealthy cereals.  If I were them, I would probably go to the store and buy some healthy cereals.  It is still okay to eat junk food every now and then.  But lets eat healthy more often.
