chemists made an artificial cell membrane.to do this they mixed an oil and a detergent then put copper ions and vesicles in the mixture and in 24 hours the oil is gone and the membranes are formed. some so-called "artificial cells" have been produced but only its genome is artificial the membrane was hijacked from a bacteria.
critique:
i thought this was interesting because i watched a documentary about the "artificial cell" on the science channel.
impact:
we are that much closer to making real artificial life.
