Summary: It is hard not to always eat junk food through out the day. When we eat junk food all day, it hurts our body because our bodies need good fuel not bad fuel. So put down the junk food and eat stuff that is good for your body. A perfect healthy snack should be something that is low on calories and big on nutrients. Here are ten on-the-go snacks that are good for everyone. Bananas are really good for the body. It helps prevent getting cramps, it has a lot of potassium; there is a mineral that helps fluid and electrolyte balance, heartbeat, and blood pressure. Citrus fruits like oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit are good because they have a good source of vitamin C. Raw veggies like bell peppers, baby carrots, celery sticks, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and cauliflower florets help the body because they have a bunch of minerals, vitamins, and phytochemicals. Apples have flavonoids, which should help bring down the chance of getting a heart disease. Eating popcorn is good without the butter because it has a lot of fiber that you intake. Nuts are good for the body because they have vitamins, fiber, minerals, protein, and it helps lower cholesterol. Purple and red grapes are great fuel for the body. The dark colored ones are good for the body because it fights cancer. Whole grain cereals like shredded wheat, oat squares, and cheerios help prevent colon cancer because of the fiber in the cereal. Whole grain crackers with almond butter or peanut butter is good for everyone because it is heart healthy and it has antioxidants. Last but not least is dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has something called flavonols, which helps prevent blood clots, it reduces inflammation, and also lowers blood pressure.
Critique: Snacks that I like are bananas, dark chocolate, grapes, healthy cereals, and apples. There are more healthy foods than these. But if you’re in a rush, just have one of these quick snacks.
Impact: When I read articles like this it makes me think about what I should eat. Instead of going for the junk food, go for something healthy. I mean it’s not that big of a deal if you don’t eat something sugary. For me, I am going to eat healthy foods most of the time now.
