Rarest Bumblebee in U.S. Rediscovered

Summary: Last seen in 1956 in the White Mountains of New Mexico, the "Cockerell Bumblebee" has been rediscovered by scientists at the University of California. The Cockerell Bumblebee is the rarest species of bee in the United States. The bee was originally found in 1913 at Rio Ruidoso, and in Cloudcroft. The most recent one found was in 1956 until more were found along a highway in Cloudcroft, on August 31, 2011.
