Reference: http://www.cbn.com/health/nutrition/Reinke_nutritionnoggin.aspx

Summary: Experts are now saying that eating the right foods can keep your brain healthy.  Studies say that food affects the brain while we age.  Here are ten top of the class good foods for the brain.  Eggs are a nice resource because they have choline, which goes through the cell membrane including the brain membrane.  Blueberries have the nickname “brain berries” because they help protect the brain from getting damaged.  Anther good one is wild salmon.  They are a good resource of omega 3 fatty acids; DHA and EPA that help the brain develop and function.   Any kind of nut can be good for your brain like walnuts.  Walnuts have a different omega fatty acid 3 than fish.  This is good for the peak brain function.  Colorful veggies help the brain by reducing brain stroke and to have good blood flow to and through the brain.  Herbs and spices are good for the brain by helping improve anyone’s memory.  There are many B vitamins and a many of these are good for the brain.  Vitamin B helps the brain by protecting the brain from volume loss.  Tea is not only good tasting but also healthy for the brain.  Tea is good for the brain because it changes the mood and has a calming affect on it.  Coffee is a good “waking up in the morning” drink.  Coffee fixes the short-term mental performance.  Cocoa powder helps decrease the chance of having a stroke, prevents clots, and lowers people’s blood pressure.  All these foods can not only be healthy for your body but also be good for the brain.

Critique: The ingredients that man has found through these different plants and minerals is just amazing because all stuff that we have found are now being able to use to help out people that have problems.

Impact:  I think it is very amazing how people have figured out that things like blueberries can help keep your brain healthy and functioning.  What a wonderful gift to have discovered ways to do so through many delicious foods!
