Designing Your Fitness Program

Reference: http://www.cbn.com/health/fitness/DrLen_designing_fitnessprogram.aspx
Summary: The way to begin a fitness program is by wondering why you’re working out.  You need to find the purpose of why you want to workout.  Here are a few things you should ask yourself when designing a fitness program.  Ask yourself how much strength training do you need, how much cardiovascular training do you need, is your body able to handle the extra stress, how long should your training be, and will your training affect your current health condition?  When trying to get healthy and fit, you need to train and diet smartly.  You can produce and reduce stress when working out.  So be careful on how intense your workout is because it can add a lot of stress on you.  When you take a walk, you don’t add any stress on your body.  But if you do aerobic, weight, and burst training wrong, you can add a lot of stress.  So watch out for that.  During the breakdown phase, you lose about 15-20% of your weight.  And 70-80% is from your diet and rest.  When you lower your stress down fast, the quicker the anabolic starts.  The more stress you get means that you been working out hard and when you work out hard you get to rest for a while.  Make sure to get more information on whatever questions you have.

Critique: Before you start your work out plan, make sure to be safe.  What I mean by that is to know what you are doing. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can really hurt yourself.

Impact: The key thing here is to gather your information.  You need to know a lot before you do stuff that you have never done before.  If you don’t have any information, don’t workout because you can harm your body.  All I have to say is be carful and have fun with your workout and know what your doing.

  1. I agree with this. You want to be as healthy as you can be, but you need to be safe. I like how you listed the things to plan and also the things to watch out for. Working out and getting fit takes time and energy. Not everyone has a lot of time, find the time slot that works for you. Before working out, make sure you do research on how much and what you should be eating as well as what kind of workouts should you be doing. Look into getting a personal trainer or at least someone to work out with that can do the same fitness plan as you. Everyone is unique and not everyone can do the same things.

Research. Research. Research. I can not stress this enough. Just like k2da did above. You need to make sure that you are fully aware of everything you want to do and everything you are capable of doing.
