Summary: Talks about how some cantoulope infected with Listeria killed 13 people and was affecting people in 19 states. Listeria is one of the worst food-illnesses a person can get, and especially is dangerous to old people, pregnanty women, and people with weak immune systems. Lawsuits are being held against the producers of these foul cantoloupes.
Critique: This is seriously scary. I knew about meat being able to give off E. Coli, but I never thought our fruit could be affected too!
Impact: Hopefully this willl change our food saftey laws, make them better. Food is supposed to be a safe thing. You don't think, "I might die if I eat a cantoloupe", you just eat it. We need a stronger protection on our food.
