Abnormal Volcanic Eruptions

Summary: A million years ago, before humans, something called a “Super-Eruption” shook the world. It was called thus because not only was it large and abnormal, but also because it triggered other volcanic eruptions around the globe. This brought upon things like The Ice Age. Ew. Don’t worry though; this isn’t going to happen soon unless someone purposely sets it off. What idiot would do that is stupid and suicidal. It wouldn’t make the planet burst apart, but it would kill nearly every living thing on Earth. The things that survive from sheer luck would suffocate from the tons of debris floating around, and that would be the end of THAT.

Critique: I personally don’t like volcanic eruptions all that much, so hearing about the Super Eruption just made my day. Let’s hope nobody decides that they want to blow up the world. Volcanic eruptions occur when pressure is built up in the magma chambers. When the pressure builds up, it has to release it, so it explodes. Extinct volcanoes and dormant volcanoes have little to no chance of exploding because there is little to no pressure in the earth for it to build up. Volcanoes were most likely very active towards The Beginning of Earth, so the Super Eruption will most likely only affect volcanoes that are active.

Impact: Let me paint a picture of how this works: remember the huge eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980? The Super Eruption was 2,000 times worse. Just imagine how bad that would be for us. Like any scientific discovery, this can be both good and bad, but the aspects of both are extremely vague. It won’t happen soon (good aspect) but when it does, it will kill us all (bad aspect).
