Summary: Dr. Daniel Howell believes that bare feet are better than wearing shoes. Dr. Howell says that our feet adapt to rain and weather and actually become stronger when not wearing shoes. Dr. Howell also says that 90% of the foot issues and injures are caused by shoes. Many people get arthritis of the foot and even knee arthritis can be caused by wearing shoes. Dr. Howell no longer wears shoes because of these results he also runs barefoot without injury. He wrote a book called the “Barefoot Book” which displays 50 reasons to not wear shoes.
Critique: I believe this guy is legit. Studies show that shoes are taking away the strength and balance of our feet as the year’s progress. I would probably never just walk around without shoes on but it’s a good thing to think about. Think about how tough our feet would be and how much more balance we would have if we simply walk to the mailbox bare foot.
Impact: I think this makes an impact on our world today because so many more women are wearing ridiculously high heels. So many more women are getting foot injuries. These heels are harmful to our feet and for many women they would just die if they couldn’t were there favorite pair of heels. We definitely have to have some time to give our feet a break meanwhile strengthening our feet.
