Potatoes Doing Good Things In the Blood

Summary: People who happen to love potatoes will probably have the right to pat themselves on the back when they hear this. Potatoes actually have the ability to lower blood pressure, especially in the overweight. Now when a person is told that the potato is fattening and unhealthy, refer back to this and prove that wrong. Of course, only a few servings a day are actually efficent in lowering blood pressure. So eating more than that is just not good. However, this does not going to McDonalds three times a day and ordering a large fry is good. This research was done with a purple potato and this contained no oils and fats. In other words, it's safe to say that it's not exactly a delicous treat, considered it was also eaten with the skin on, unless of course people like that, but it is full of dozens of vitamins and phytochemicals. It isn't just the purple potato this can be done with, any potato without all that sour cream and butter, and especially not fried, can be a healthy, blood pressure lowering meal.

Critique: This could lower high blood pressure for people who need to, and may even be a cheap and effective alternative to regular blood pressure medicine. You could also be doing both taking blood pressure medication and eating the potatoes at the same time and get an even better result.

Impact: The purple potato can help obese and people with high blood pressure alike and can be a great asset to the world
