Summary: Though a colonoscopy can be embarassing, uncomfortable, and undesirable, it is important for people over 50 and for people who have a family history of colon cancer. Colon cancer is the #2 killer in the United States. It is really important you get screened- even though a colonoscopy may not be something anyone necessarily wants to do.
Critique: The article told a funny story in it, and made it much more interesting. And it was cool to learn what they do in a colonoscopy (and pretty gross!) Thank goodness I'm not 50 yet!
Impact: Hopefully people will catch the cancer before its too late now!

I never knew that colon cancer is the #2 killer in the US.If you have a long line of family members with colon cancer, the doctors recomend you to get a colonoscopy at an even younger age.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma and great grandma had colon cancer. It is so not cool!! My mom is 45, and is going to get a colonoscopy soon already.
